Only seeing static from FPV transmitter 5.8 Ghz

I have the camera and transmitter hooked up from this kit: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568046 ... pt=glo2usa
When I plug the receiver into my laptop, and open the device with VLC all I see is static. If I perform a scan I can see that transmitter is broadcasting but all I see is static which changes to lines if I unplug the transmitter.
I am using Ubuntu 22.04 and VLC to view the receiver located at /dev/video2
